Jondavid Pollock, MD, PhD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist who came to Wheeling Hospital’s Schiffler Cancer Center in 2000. Prior to his move to Wheeling, Dr. Pollock was the assistant chief of Radiation Oncology at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD. His training took place at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and The National Cancer Institute. Dr. Pollock was honorably discharged from The United States Navy in 2000 as a Lieutenant Commander and he spent two years with the U.S. Marines at Camp Lejeune as a General Medical Officer. Dr. Pollock has a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of cancers of the breast, lung, esophagus, gastrointestinal tract (rectum, anus), and head and neck. He has authored several book chapters and original scientific articles demonstrating his interest and expertise in these areas. He is an invited speaker regarding breast cancer genetics and serves on the editorial boards of three medical journals. Dr. Pollock is the principal Investigator of all RTOG (Radiation Therapy Oncology Group) trials offered at Wheeling Hospital and he is the director of several cancer groups locally to include the Cancer Committee, General Surgery Tumor Board, Head and Neck Tumor Board, and Neuro-oncology Tumor Board. He is currently the Chief of Staff of the Medical and Dental Staff and is always pleased to promote education as one of the most important ways to combat cancer.
