7 Years ago, we had an amazing teacher at Primrose. Today, she is an amazing Primrose Parent with an incredible kiddo in our Young Toddler class! (PS. Happy Birthday, Maddie!)
Every day you see in-class Primrose curriculum posted, but what they learn is transferred into their day-to-day play.
Here at Primrose School at Hidden Lakes we challenge you to capture the lessons learned in the classroom to something at home. Post your results below. It can be anything to your child counting, playing with others, acting like a teacher, or making your mom draw Primrose Friends on the sidewalk with chalk.
We hope you have had a great weekend and you are enjoying the great weather!

Maintaining our Primrose Patch is a happy chore for which the children clamor to help. It is truly beautiful to see their eyes light up when they sink their hands into the earth and share in their delight as they observe life blossoming πΈβ€οΈ
We are all different in many ways, but we can all be friends. Our handprints reflect that diversity and that potential for friendship π
Today for Early Art Masters Pre-Kindergarten Pathways talked about how water can be drawn and took a picture walk through of the book, βWaterβ by Frank Asch. Then they talked about the artist print βThe Jewel River In Musashi Provinceβ by Katsushika Hokusai. His painting was a landscape art print of a body of water (River).
They then made their own version of the water color art print!
A little surprise teacher appreciation. Ms. Mary won our raffle of incredible cake pops from Stars Lotus Treats, a local artisan confectioner! We love our teachers and we love supporting local business! ππ‘π§

Who will win a box of these incredible cake pops from Stars Lotus Treats?
The weather cooperated with our lessons for today! The PK classes worked hard on their literacy lesson based on the book "The Wind Blew" by Pat Hutchins. Meanwhile, the Preschool class harnessed the wind's power and were delighted by the results!
Preparation is the key to success. Despite ever growing demands of expectations for both education AND health/safety, our teachers present a child-friendly, education-minded environment each and every day. Just look at a Pre-K class in the morning, waiting for little minds to come grow, explore, laugh, and succeed!
Bulletin Boards and this weather got us feeling the fall vibes!
Ms. Jayne keeps our Preschoolers actively engaged with letter recognition in ways that build self-esteem and independence. Can you find a letter in our Falling Leaves poem? Preschool can!
Shout out to our teachers for joining us in good spirit for an outdoor, glow stick staff meeting! These meetings are crucial for planning the best possible educational experience for your children. The outdoors are the safest way for us to gather all of them together. Our teachers graciously take in stride what is best for the child. We appreciate them so much! π
Without sacrifice, difficult things cannot be done. We honor those who made a sacrifice to protect our values by laying their life on the line. Happy Veterans Day!
The learning doesn't stop after school. Our after-schoolers were given this challenge to complete yesterday: The Primrose Friends are crossing the ocean along with many hungry sharks. The Primrose Friends need to be at least ten inches above the sharks to be out of their reach. We used our engineering design thinking skills to build a tower on which the Primrose Friends could stand to move them safely across.
First Friday! Kiddos are welcome to choose a fun mask on their way home this afternoon! Be your own super hero!
Ally the Bunny VS. Katie the Cat!
Today we discussed the idea of voting with key words like BALLOT, ELECTION, and VOTE. We reminded the students that even though they voted for one candidate, it doesn't mean that the candidate will win. Recovering from disappointment with grace is one of most important lessons early childhood education can offer!
Channel the 6th sense of our babies who made their Super Bowl predictions today! Go with your gut! π
It's not puppy love - it's been 101 Days of School! For us, education is a celebration of every student's potential and every day feels like a party when your school family is this much fun!
Happy Ground Og's Day! Og waddled outside and saw his shadow. Lucky for us, it doesn't mean 6 more weeks of winter like the groundhog's shadow. It simply means 6 more weeks of extra reading and we are happy to oblige! π€ππ
Science can be sweet! Preschool cut up their own apples, combined sugar and cinnamon, and patiently waited for the outcome of their experiment - Apple Pie! Yummy!
Like magnets, we stick together! Ms. Yasmin conducted a wonderful lesson with her Pre-K students demonstrating the properties of magnets as they attract and repel one another!
We miss parents being able to come into our classrooms to see all of the JOY we get to see each day. Here is a little glimpse into our happy days!
