Raman L. Mitra, MD, PHD, FACC graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency, followed by fellowships in both cardiovascular disease and clinical electrophysiology, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical electrophysiology. Dr. Mitra is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Heart Rhythm Society.
He served as director of Electrophysiology, Arrhythmia and Pacemaker Services at Rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago for several years prior to coming to South Bend in 1996.
His special interests include catheter ablation of complex supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, heart failure including implantable device therapy, atrial fibrillation management and ablation, cardiac molecular genetics, prevention of heart disease and cardiovascular conditions in women and athletes.
