Rick Nishimura, M.D., is a general cardiologist at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and very much enjoys caring for patients with all types of cardiovascular diseases. His clinical interests include valvular heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and pericardial disease. Dr. Nishimura has been a member of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine for over 35 years, primarily involved in direct patient care and cardiovascular education. Aside from patient care, he also works in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, specializing in hemodynamics and structural heart disease. He has been active in the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, having served as a member of the board of trustees, and has been on several national guideline writing committees.
