“With the switch to all-electronic tolling, the Pennsylvania Turnpike is adding a 45% surcharge for customers who use Toll-By-Plate instead of E-ZPass to encourage more to use the pre-paid transponder.”
“The increase will push the most common toll for a passenger vehicle with E-ZPass from $1.50 to $1.60 and from $2.50 to $3.90 for Toll-By-Plate, including the surcharge.”
“The cost of driving across the state from east to west will cost E-ZPass customers $47.00, up from $44.20. For Toll-By-Plate, the cost with the surcharge will be $95.30, up from $61.80.”

Runkle’s is an authorized E-ZPass distributor allowing our customers the ability to immediately purchase the E-ZPass transponders in all three of our locations.
The cost to purchase an E-ZPass transponder is $45.00 (by cash) pre-loaded with $35.00 toll value available 24-48 hours after registering it at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s website.
