Saba Syed, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist treating patients in her new private practice on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. She specializes in treating patients living with mood and anxiety disorders, which can significantly impact a person’s quality of life. She tailors treatments to meet the individual needs and comfort level of each patient, blending talk therapy with medications, as necessary. Dr. Syed prides herself on helping patients find ways to cope during difficult times in their lives, as well as treating chronic conditions that can prevent an individual from functioning at his or her highest potential. She attended the Johns Hopkins University for her BA and went to St. Christopher IMD College of Medicine for her MD. She did her residency in general psychiatry at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine Carilion Clinic and completed one year of a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Before entering private practice, Dr. Syed treated patients in intensive treatment and general adult units within a psychiatric hospital located on the north side of Chicago.
