Diwali also called as Deepavali means “row or series of lights”. It is often referred to as the “festival of lights”. It is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.
It is usually celebrated by cleaning, decorating the homes and workplaces. During Diwali people wear their finest clothes, illuminate the interior and exterior of their homes with Diyas (oil lamps) and rangoli (colorful artistic designs), perform Lakshmi puja (Worshiping Goddess Lakshmi- the goddess of prosperity and wealth), have family feasts where sweets and gifts are shared.
May this Diwali bring us all good health and prosperity!!!
