Today is National Pet Memorial Day. Today offers a moment to remember pets who have passed ♡
"Pets play an important role in our lives. Not only are they companions, but pets become part of the family, too. Pets keep us responsible and remind us to play. When we are too serious, they lighten up our lives. Many pets keep us healthy, too.
When we lose a beloved pet, the pain is genuine. Whether furry, feathered, or an uncommon variety, the loss is felt deeply. They become family and a familiar part of our lives."
"Today, we remember the companionship and comfort they provided to us. Don’t forget that part of the relationship included care provided by you. Memories replace the empty space left by the loss of a cherished pet." 🐾

Happy September! September is Animal Pain Awareness month.
Acute pain, like limping from an injury, can be obvious and distressing, but chronic pain can be more subtle. Old age is not a disease but pain is, so chronic pain shouldn’t be masked as “getting old” or “slowing down.” If you are noticing that your pet’s mobility has changed, they are not eating the way they used to, or are not as social, please contact us to discuss different ways to help control your pet’s discomfort.

We do have an old facebook page, but our most current and up-to-date is Sand Creek A.H.
In addition, this time of year, we usually like to help collect food and non-perishables for our local animal shelters, but to help limit exposure due to COVID, we are going to donate money to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society as well as our Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and encourage you to donate to them as well. Happy holidays! Can't wait to see all of your pets dressed up!
Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful and to think about all the special people and pets who have touched our lives. Happy Thanksgiving!
"Thanksgiving is a special holiday that brings together family and friends, but it also can carry some hazards for pets. Holiday food needs to be kept away from pets, and pet owners who travel need to either transport their pets safely or find safe accommodations for them at home."

Happy Friday! We want to take the time to thank everyone again for your patience and compassion throughout these trying times of curbside visits due to COVID. We truly are blessed to have such a wonderful team and wonderful clients ❤ Stay safe everyone and enjoy the holiday season!

Below is a great article discussing separation anxiety in our pets. Separation anxiety has been particularly high due to the changes associated with COVID.
"“Separation anxiety is particularly common among animals that have been rehomed multiple times,” notes Dr. Agapis. “However, it can develop in any pet, no matter their background. One study reported that 80 percent of dogs have elevated stress hormones when left alone. Any disruption in routine may trigger anxiety in your pet; examples include the loss of a companion, a geographical move, a change in the owner’s schedule, or even a hospitalization.”"
