For those that worked for us 11 years ago, you will remember this gentle giant of a man. He mentored many of us. He is stilled missed.

As of late I have been thinking about the love ones that have died recently. My mother passed away last April. My daughter in law, Lisa, sadly experienced her grandpa pass away a few weeks ago.
There is the recent death of a co-worker at XCOR, Ron Mathis. A true visionary and wonderful man with a great outlook on life!
The tragic loss of Caleb Johnson, at the young age of 21, has left many people who knew him, numb with unbelief that he is no longer with us. The "zest of life" he had along with his humble spirit made him a one of a kind man.
Both Ron and Caleb shared passions of fast autos. It is a shame they never met each other.
This got me to thinking of other tragic losses that have occurred in our family. One of the more tragic losses to me was my brother Dave. He died at 51 years old, having lung cancer, in 2005. Eleven months before he passed away, he came to Country Oaks Baptist Church and shared his testimony of where he was at in the "journey" that he was on. I was reminded, (after not watching this for years), that although he talks about his cancer, he homes in on "trust and faith and hope" that we can receive from God. He was another man who had a "zest for life", like Ron and Caleb. He handed that down to his kids and they have taken up the mantle, to not let things pass you by.
My niece, Alese, who passed away at the youthful age of 23, would say, "It does matter what we do here on earth"!
I will try to remember her phrase more often!
The days they are a changing....good times past, good days ahead.
