Kristina L. Tilley, CP is among approximately 294 paralegals in the State of South Carolina and 19,707 paralegals nationwide who have attained this achievement.
Mr. Smith recognized Mrs. Tilley’s love for learning and encouraged her to enroll in a refresher course at Greenville Technical College and provided the funding for the course as well as the fee for the exam. Prior to obtaining her Certified Paralegal credential, Mrs. Tilley has received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Walden University (Summa Cum Laude honors – 2019), an Associate in Public Service with a Major in Paralegal from Greenville Technical College (with honors – 2006), and an Associate in Business with a Major in Office Systems Technology from Tri-County Technical College (2002).
Established in 1976, the Certified Paralegal examination program is a voluntary professional credentialing program developed by NALA – The Paralegal Association and administered by a board of paralegals, members of the American Bar Association and members of the field of education active in paralegal training. The Certified Paralegal program involves successful completion of a comprehensive examination covering the topis of the United States Legal System; Civil Litigation; Contracts; Corporate/Commercial Law; Criminal Law and Procedure; Estate Planning and Probate; Real Estate and Property; Torts; Professional and Ethical Responsibility; and writing and critical thinking skills. Thereafter, evidence of continuing legal education must be submitted periodically to maintain certified status.
