Effective June 15, 2020, the Anderson County Courthouse has expanded its operating hours from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Beginning on June 22, 2020, it will resume its regular hours of 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Family Court hearings are still being conducted via WebEx (video). Emergency hearings are still being held with "in person" hearings. Uncontested divorces can be granted by filing certain documents or with short WebEx hearings.
The S.C. Supreme Court has issued a memorandum regarding the ongoing COVID-19 issues. The current limitations have now been extended through July 31, 2020. Uncontested divorces and separate maintenance actions are still able to be conducted without a court appearance. Temporary hearings and final hearings are being held via WebEx. Any emergency or expedited hearings will continue to be heard with an actual hearing in the courthouse.

Earlier today, the South Carolina Supreme Court extended the current practice of limiting hearings until June 12, 2020. That does not mean, however, that the courthouse is "closed for business" or that attorneys cannot handle new cases. It simply means that the courts are implementing new procedures to be used during the current pandemic.
