The school specializes primarily in the ancient art of Tang Soo Do, which translates into “the way of the Chinese hand.” By borrowing from multiple existing styles of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese martial arts, Tang Soo Do offers a conglomerate of punching, kicking, and blocking techniques that create a powerful and well-balanced style suited for all types of practitioners. Lessons also incorporate key teachings from: Korean disciplines, Jeet Kune Do concepts, Krav Maga self protection, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing, and mixed martial arts.
Known in many places by its more common name “Taekwondo,” Tang Soo Do does not promote violence, but rather instills confidence in the trainee’s ability to handle any situation. The mental and physical well-being of the students is the most important goal of any Tang Soo Do school, a concept that goes back nearly 2,000 years to the art’s beginning.
