Stephanie Smith-Marrone, MD is a medical oncologist with a particular expertise in the treatment of lung cancer and head and neck malignancy. She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University and her MD degree from Stony Brook University Medical Center. She did her residency in internal medicine at Stony Brook University Medical Center where she was given Intern of the Year and Best Medical Student Teacher awards as well as elected Chief Medical Resident. She completed her hematology/oncology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. She then went on to work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on the thoracic and head and neck disease management teams for over eight years before moving to her current position. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Smith-Marrone is a member of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center and actively participates in tumor boards discussing patient management. She teaches the medical oncology fellows and participates in academic committee work. She is the Medical Site Director of the New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital Cancer Center, where she sees patients with lung cancer and head and neck malignancies. She is also the Director of Cancer Clinical Trials Program at NYP/Lawrence Hospital.
