Stop and Breathe is a program which teaches breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques to anyone going through stress, whether it be in their own life, the workplace or in a medical setting. Originally implemented in hospitals and cancer centers, this program expanded in the workplace and in organizations as a way to combat stress and encourage a more healthful way of living. This has an inherent benefit to the employers, as the employees will not only be more productive when they have tools to combat day to day stress, but also will have a direct benefit on their health and well-being, thus decreasing sick days. Learning these techniques is not only tremendously soothing but life-changing as well.
