Orange County's $1,000-grant CARES Act program will reopen its application portal on Wednesday, November 4, at 8 a.m. with a capacity for 15,000 users, it was announced yesterday at the county's news conference on the COVID-19 update. 101-year-old Apopka man Jose Ros received his first COVID-19 vaccination shot at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, February 19. Ros will celebrate his 102nd birthday in June 2021. Starting Monday, February 22, the Orange County Convention Center site will be vaccinating up to 3,000 individuals a day.

COVID-19 vaccines will be administered Friday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in downtown Apopka at the Apopka Community Center/VFW, 519 S. Central Avenue, Apopka Mayor Bryan Nelson said Tuesday morning. Mayor Nelson said appointments must be made and more information may be obtained by calling 407-703-1850 at City Hall.
