A clear vision for the future gives you so much power and allows the universe to align with your vision with more ease. Create a statement around the above thoughts 💭 (or of course whatever aspect of life you want!). Make sure it is using present tense language and always positive ✨ Example: “My body is free from pain and I move with ease.” Adding in a timeline helps as well... calculate out the exact date, like 3 months from today is April 6, 2021. Say your statement to yourself prior to your yoga practice at the studio or dedicated meditation. This will help every part of your body experience your vision. See you soon! Know your Flow! In this 90 minute workshop we will explore the foundations of a Vinyasa Yoga class. Cindy will guide you in creating a solid and injury free Vinyasa practice, perfect for beginners and of course experienced yogis who are looking to deepen their practice and ensure a continued injury free practice! This workshop will not only cover alignment principles but also psychological components and strength fundamentals. All of this together will assist students in progressing towards a safer practice and with the proper foundation, more advanced poses. You can take a class with Sara nearly every day, just don’t expect to see her at the 6am class 😂 This is what she wanted to share about her yoga journey. ✨What has changed for you since becoming a member at The Hot Room? —Since I started coming to the Hot Room- not just practicing yoga but coming to the Hot Room to practice, I am in the best shape physically, I’m more flexible, sleeping better, lost weight and am over all more aware of my body and how the way I sit and stand and how it can make me stiff or sore. However the biggest change is in my mental and emotional well being. I’ve become much more able to deal with feeling as they come and go. I am an emotional person- I used to let that dictate a lot in life. In the last year I’ve gotten a lot better at just letting it be- our feelings pass and new ones come. And rather than feeling like I have to judge a situation on whether it made me happy, sad, mad, glad- I’m saying why is this making me feel this way? And it’s opened up a sense of gratitude for life where I’m open to change and welcome those changes in life and appreciate what is in life. I could have been in a very dark place in 2020 with the “Wild World” we live in but instead I was able to find a place where I could really work on myself and leave the world at the door. I am a happier and more balanced person for it and I’ve made some great friends and realized the direction I want my life to go in. I don’t have a “plan” as to how to accomplish all my goals but I have a better idea of how to take steps toward my goals. ✨What is your favorite tip/trick to make it through a tough class? —Take a breathe and think about how nice that mid class savasana is going to feel. ✨What advice do you have for someone new, just starting to take classes at The Hot Room? —Since it’s easy to mix up right and left try wearing a hair tie, slim bracelet or string on one of your wrists so you can look down quick and tell which is right and which is left. (I still have a bracelet I wear on my left wrist all the time and it’s been 7 years that I’ve been practicing on and off!) See you soon @sarafrances1013
Kevin jumped in and joined us for an intensive practice weekend with @maryjarvisyoga —back-bending and seeing stars 🤩. He has created a consistent yoga practice and this is what he wanted to share with you! ✨ What has changed for you since becoming a member at The Hot Room? —Everything. My body changed. I am more aware of what feels healthy and what is not. I move different. I feel different. Yoga has become more of a personal philosophy to me as I learn more about myself and what I am capable. Practicing yoga allows me to recover from injuries, and is a great counterbalance to my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practice. I find that I am calmer in general from yoga. Yoga seems to translate well to my life that if I can find inner peace while in the heat, humidity, and salty-sweat rolling down my face, then I can find it anywhere else. I find that throughout my day, I am able to spend more time in the moment rather than focused on the “sweat dripping across my face” events that happen throughout the day. ✨ What is your favorite tip/trick to make it through a tough class? —Each class is a different experience for me. Depending on what is going on in my life outside of yoga influences that, so I try to embrace that as I go into class. If life is chaos, I try to leave that outside and find peace on the mat. And it works…simple as that, right. Not even close. The trick for me is to breathe. As my practice evolves, I continue to learn more about myself, the poses that present the biggest challenges in my practice and the ones that I feel that I want to stretch for something deeper. Deeper could mean physically, but it could be mentally, emotionally, or spiritually in any combination imaginable. I enjoy the first few minutes after each class as I think about those deeper moments. I continue to find ways to break down the class into smaller parts, and those parts are the markers that I use to help pass the time.
