Are you stretching and exercising while your gym is closed? To safely and effectively work out at home, the trick is to stay focused and minimize distractions. To add variety and a change of environment and fresh air to your fitness regime, you can consider brisk walking, cycling, or jogging. Target to achieve 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity in a week to stay fit. If your heart rate is at 50% to 70% of your maximum rate, you are engaging in moderate-intensity exercise. Once you have established a routine, home workouts can be as effective as working out in a gym. Please share your home workouts in the comments below!

Alyssa suffered from a genetic knee condition that was leaving her with chronic pain and poor mobility. “We discussed the treatment plan for my knees, and I was impressed with Dr. Koss’s assessment. He was all about saving what I had left of my knee and fixing the root of the issue. He recommended a Tibial Tubercle Transfer with MPFL Reconstruction,” she shares. “It has been 4 months since my TTT w/MPFL and I had my follow up yesterday. I cried the whole way home and I don’t normally cry. These were pure tears of joy. To hear him say “I no longer need to see you back for your right knee” was something I wasn’t expecting. I just thought this would be something I dealt with lifelong and defined me. To feel what a “normal” knee is supposed to feel like is completely overwhelming in a wonderful way.” Hear more > https://orthopedicnj.com/news/alyssa-morrisey

For a young athlete like Hayden Boos, being on the playing field and competing at the top of his game are the things that motivate and inspire him. When pain in his shoulder was significant and consistent enough to make him seek medical treatment, Hayden knew he might have a long road in front of him. “I was having throbbing pain in my right shoulder every day. There was a lot of inflammation and I tried physical therapy, but nothing was helping. I went for an MRI and was referred to Dr. Sayde at The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey, who helped me understand that I had a torn labrum and needed surgery,” Hayden explained. “He and his team performed the surgery to repair my right shoulder and now I’m back to playing football and baseball. My shoulder feels great!” read more > https://orthopedicnj.com/news/hayden-boos ORTHOPEDICNJ.COM Hayden - OINJ Patient Story
