While I can get behind any actions taken to protect consumers, this is a DISASTER that will happen in 2021. The rent for these 6 months will STILL have to be paid. What do you do come Jan., 2021 when you have 7 months rent due? Dont be fooled. This does not help you in the long run, only in the very short term. Make all efforts to stay current with your rent. If not, this will end up with you evicted and in bankruptcy. https://www.npr.org/2020/09/01/908581048/sweeping-new-eviction-ban-from-trump-administration NPR.ORG CDC Issues Sweeping Temporary Halt On Evictions Nationwide Amid Pandemic
The President’s payroll tax deferment program starts next week. It would allow employees making less than $104,000 to defer Medicare and social security tax (not pay it) for the remainder of the year. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM. All taxes not paid during this deferment period *are still due* come January, 2021. Meaning, you will get a gigantic tax bill to pay those taxes which you have deferred. And, as far as I can tell, employers and the IRS are permitted to do anything they can to collect. For example, it is possible your Medicare and social security tax deductions could double for the first half of 2021 or the IRS could offset Medicare and social security taxes off your federal income tax refund. For the extra money you may receive in your paycheck today, this program has the effect of creating a financial strain on most American families come 2021.
Learning about your rights can help to prevent problems and avoid scams during these stressful times. If you have outstanding debts these three easy steps will help you protect your rights: 1. Verify whether the claim is valid; 2. Dispute the claim if you do not owe the debt or the amount is wrong; and, 3. Contact the Ohio Attorney General, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (to file a complaint) and/or an attorney, if it is necessary to sue to protect your rights under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act, the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and/or the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Newly redesigned website. Desperately needed. Please take a second to check it out. I’m jumping into the 21st century. Lol. We’re working out logistics for adding initial consultations and client meetings by Skype, Zoom and Uber Conference, too.
