The unexpected financial costs associated with COVID-19 have hurt senior living communities across the country. Join us in advocating for a change that would require insurance companies to cover the twice-weekly surveillance testing for long-term care employees. Call our state representatives and senators today, and ask them to urge the governor to take action! Here are some talking points for when you contact legislators: • Providers across the state cannot bear the cost of these twice weekly mandated tests. • The costs would be on average $100 per employee, twice per week. • An average facility in the state has about 189 staff and testing twice weekly would cost that particular facility $151,200 per month.
