Thanks to VSPA, our Village School Parent Association, we had a great outdoor used uniform sale this past Saturday. Parents got the chance to safely socialize, grab coffee and outfit their kids in cute Village Viking gear!

As a sophomore at Village, Dana decided to try crocheting and found she loved it! With a heart for philanthropy, she founded a non-profit called Crochet Children’s Fund, selling the stuffed animals she crochets and donating proceeds to local children’s hospitals like Texas Children's Hospital.
Today as a senior, Dana has donated almost $7,000 and shared over 300 handmade stuffed animals with local children’s hospitals! She shares, “Through the years, I’ve found a balance between school and running the business, and I hope to grow Crochet Children’s Fund even more in the future!”

Today, we're featuring a Village Viking who creates exquisite cakes that are (almost) too pretty to eat 🎂
Middle schooler Charlie enjoys baking in his free time and as his hobby has grown, his cakes have too! Charlie's 3-tiered masterpieces include elaborate frosting techniques and can take multiple days to complete.

Student Spotlight: Baking cakes (almost) too pretty to eat
Today we’re spotlighting Anastacia, a senior at Village this year and the founder of Elcove (https://elcove.green/). Her environmentally conscious company provides a variety of cleaning product capsules and reusable bottles, aiming to replace the single-use plastic bottles often found in grocery store cleaning aisles.
A Village Viking since age 5, Anastacia recalls the coaches, teachers, and IB and Entrepreneurship classes along the way that all helped her realize her dream of running a business. “Being in such a positive environment helped me focus on creating my business and school work at the same time, knowing that I will always have support.”

Today on World Kindness Day, we’re sharing a student story from Dana Magana, who started her own non-profit, the Crochet Children’s Fund. Dana has donated $7,000 from the sale of her handmade stuffed animals to the Texas Children’s Hospital and other smaller pediatric clinics with long-term patients.
