Trish first became interested in therapy during her time in the military mentoring junior Marines, though she is often told she is too quiet to be a Marine. She found that the biggest cause for unhappiness in her peers came from not fitting the mold. She worked to create an environment that was more diverse in thought and more forgiving. She carried these lessons into her work as a therapist.
She completed her Masters in
