It’s Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!
Considering adoption? Consider the “less adoptable” dogs, like Ocean. Ocean nearly lost her hind legs due to violence and abuse in Kuwait. Now, she’s found a new home thanks to VCA shelter partner Homeward Trails.

From Rags to Riches: How Ocean Found Her Forever Home
We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! 🐍
When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Meet one of our newest #CareClubCuties! Little Sammy is only 9 weeks old so he more worried about getting his puppy vaccines completed than his dental health this month. But lucky for him, his people personalized a Care Club plan just for him so that he's covered (including his neuter, but don't tell him that!)!

Why should I get my cat's teeth cleaned?
On January 19, our sister hospital, VCA Sunset was privileged to be the final destination of the procession of the many law enforcement officers and fire fighters honoring the life of K9 Officer Riley. We are proud of their efforts to serve and provide support to the men, women, and dogs in blue who continually put their lives on the line to protect our community. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office for the loss of K-9 Officer Riley and Deputy Adam Gibson. We have all truly lost two heroes and we grieve with you during this time of loss.
So long 2020! Wishing everyone a happy, healthy 2021 from your friends at VCA Elk Grove!
(We are closed until Saturday, January 2nd at 9am. We apologize for the inconvenience but look forward to seeing you in the new year!)
