What do you think Bernie's listening to on this beautiful, all-original 1951 AMI jukebox?
It is with great sadness that we announce that the owner and founder of New England Jukebox and Vernon Vintage Vinyl, Steve Hanson, has passed away. “Stevie Jukebox,” as many knew him, was dedicated to his store and seemed to be able to fix every jukebox and pinball machine that he encountered. He could always see the “diamond in the rough” in a dust-covered Wurlitzer or Seeburg and had a passion for restoring them to their original glory. Steve was always happy to take the time to explain the mechanics of the machines and share his knowledge with his customers and friends, and he would go out of his way to help. In addition to being a longtime business owner, he was also a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend to many.
Steve was one of a kind, and we will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be private, but if you would like to share a memory of Steve that we can pass along to his family, please do so in the comments.
The store will try to remain open for the foreseeable future and our dedicated staff will be running it with normal business hours.
