As we keep the health and safety of our community top priority, Vet Med Animal Hospital is taking special precautions for our clients and patients.
**We are spacing out our appointments in order to limit the amount of people in the office at one time.
**If you prefer, we are offering for our staff to come out to your car to get your pet/pets in order for them to receive the care they need, without you getting out your car.
**We will deliver any medications, foods and/or supplies your pet may need to your car.
**We are sanitizing and cleaning throughout the day.
**As always, we encourage pet owners to continue to include their pets in their emergency preparedness planning, including keeping a two to four week supply of food and medications on hand.
ON A POSITIVE NOTE…. According to the CDC, no animals in the United States have been identified with the virus and there is no evidence that pets can contract or spread COVID-19.
We will continue to monitor the changing situation and will take further precautions as things change. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions and/or concerns. We will do everything possible to keep our clients safe and give our patients the care they need and deserve.

Halloween is quickly approaching, folks! And we know how much our pets love our Halloween candy, so it's important to keep in mind that chocolate, as good as it may taste, is toxic to dogs and cats. Chocolate contains high levels of the chemical theobromine which is harder for dogs and cats to digest. Dark chocolate has higher levels of theobromine, which is more dangerous for our pets than milk chocolate, though both of them can be dangerous in great amounts. During Halloween, we need to remember to keep our fury friends safe this holiday by keeping a watchful eye on the ones that might be candy lovers!
