All kids have potential! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana supports a 1-to-1 mentoring model to ignite the best possible future for our community youths facing opportunity gaps. With 150 active matches and more waiting to be matched, the BBBS program provides a positive influence on children's lives resulting in better grades, school attendance, and confidence.
Please join us as we support the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana with a board game drive. Donations of new, unused board games will be accepted at LVCC until December 11, 2020. The age range for games is 6-18 years old.

Did you know that overgrown toenails can cause health issues for your pet? Overgrown nails place an un-natural pressure on the nail beds, and can curl under and grow into the paw pads. Long toenails may even alter your pet’s posture by applying excessive pressure to joints and tendons in the front paws and hind legs. This can have a significant impact on mobility, especially in older patients. So as small as it may seem, keeping up with your pet’s nail trims are “toe-tally” crucial.

We love Answer Your Cats Questions Day for a number of reasons! We’re sure there have been plenty of times that you have looked at your cat and pondered what he or she is thinking. Of course, you won’t actually be talking to your cat. Instead, it’s more an exercise that will help you see things from the eyes of your cat. It’s the equivalent of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes... only you’re replacing the shoe with paws.
Today is about paying closer attention to your cat and trying to understand their motives, movements and attitude. Whether it’s the volume of their meowing or their incessant scratching of certain objects, taking the time to sit down and try to imagine yourself in your cat’s body can help you bond with your feline friend.

This program is geared towards creating a solid foundation of manners for puppies under 1 year of age while receiving the socialization they need through our Doggie Daycare. We carefully structure our playgroups in order to maximize personality building as well as to promote good behaviors that will help them become well-rounded adult dogs. In between playing, they will receive a one-on-one training session with our certified trainer to learn new manners or fix basic boundaries your puppy might be struggling with. If your puppy is having trouble with a sibling pet, nipping, jumping, coming when you say their name, leash walking, or any other basic command, this option is perfect for you!
