We are in need of used towels and blankets for our patient's comfort! If you or someone you know would like to donate these items to VCSG, please feel free to drop them off with our front desk staff. We also will accept them if you'd like to drive up and give us a call to come collect them from our front door! Thank you Chattanooga! ๐ถ๐ฑ
Our lead ER nurse, Becky, teaching some of our staff the latest on CPR in our canine & feline companions. Every Wednesday VCSG has multiple classes educating our staff on how to better care for the emergency cases we see. ๐ถโ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฑ #NeverStopLearning
Today we processed our first cat blood donation!
We wanted to showcase just a handful of the volunteer dogs and cats owned by our VCSG staff members who donate blood to the communityโs pets when needed in an emergency!
VCSG is happy to announce we officially started our own community blood bank, the only one of its kind anywhere in the area.
If youโre a veterinary office, in the coming weeks, feel free to call us regarding our supply of packed red blood cells and fresh frozen plasma you can get from us. ๐ฉธ
If youโre a pet owner and would like to see if your pet is compatible with being one of our donors, please email: bloodbank@vcsgvets.com to get more information!

Oh Miles....what can we fit into one post about you?!? Miles here just graduated from our physical therapy rehabilitation program. ๐ His therapy was initiated due to an FHO surgery a year ago; he wasnโt using his leg very well and had lost a lot of muscle. Miles also has MMM and with steroids and rehab he is using his leg and gaining muscle. ๐ช๐ฝ๐ค๐ฆฎ
What is an FHO? A femoral head ostectomy is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip, by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). ๐ฆด
What is MMM? Masticatory muscle myositis is an immune system disorder in which the dog's immune system identifies the dog's own muscle tissue as foreign and attacks it. Treatment with immunosuppressants and other therapies can help pups with this condition.๏ฟผ ๐๐ฉบ
Great job to Miles and his owners and to our physical therapist, Ashley! Miles is a ball full of energy and gets a reset on life! ๐ถ
Tucker is a 3-legged pup who had a TTA surgery on his left rear leg. He lost his other rear leg when he was hit by a car a few years ago. ๐ข Tucker completed his post op rehab with our therapist Ashley using our underwater treadmill, laser targeting therapy, lots of stretching and massage and working on the balancing equipment. ๐ฅ ๐๐ฝ Needless to say he was spoiled. ๐ Neighborhood squirrels need to be on the lookout since Tucker has graduated and is as good as new! ๐๐ฟ๐ถ
Donโt know what a TTA is? It is a Tibial Tuberosity Advancement. This surgical procedure is performed by our boarded orthopedic surgeons and is used to treat cruciate ligament rupture in the knee joints (stifle) of dogs.
Nice job Tucker! New year new leg!!!! ๐

Daisy graduated from physical rehabilitation today! ๐ She had femoral head osteotomy surgery with our very own Dr Jeffrey Peck. ๐ฆด The FHO surgery is where the top of her femur is removed. We used laser therapy, stretching, our under-water treadmill to help get her back to being an active beagle! ๐ Mom also worked hard at home to get her to this point. Congrats Daisy! ๐ถ๐ผ
