Congratulations to one of the Visiting Angels - Gresham, OR of Gresham, OR September Caregivers of the Month, Fara!
Fara does a great job with her clients, and we have had a lot of great feedback from them the last few months! She is currently working with a client with some challenging family dynamics, and she has earned the trust of both the client and the family, and has had excellent communication with the office regarding her client's care. She has helped out with many fill-in shifts in addition to her regular client, including some very last minute ER shifts, and we are very appreciative! One of her former clients called recently and wanted to leave a Google review on Fara and praise her for her good work. Fara is reliable, communicative, and compassionate! Thanks for all you do!
Congratulations to Sandra, Caregiver of the Month for Visiting Angels of Pittsburgh!
Sandra has been a silent star since she started with Visiting Angels 6 months ago. She has been able to step right into her primary caregiver role and has not looked back. Sandra is a champion at communication; letting us know of any changes, needs of hers or her clients. Sandy is also willing to help pick up extra shifts when needed and letting us know when she cannot, which is so much appreciated!
Meeting Sandy you can tell she simply is a loving soul. Whether she is telling us about being widowed twice or about her daughter or grandson you can tell Sandy has made a positive mark on this world. She is very active in her church singing in the Choir and strengthening her relationship with the Lord.
When asked about becoming an Angel, Sandy said Visiting Angels is a blessing to people who require their services, and that the balance her caregiver position has offered filled a void since her retirement at Presbyterian University Hospital.
“Everyone needs a visit from an Angel.” We could not agree with you more! Thank you for all you do Sandy, and the poised care you provide to your client.

Love this from our Eastern Idaho agency.
Love this graphic from our Wheeling, WV agency.
Yesterday, Visiting Angels of Waco, TX served over 150 cups of coffee and donuts to the amazing medical staff at Ascension Providence. What a treat! We love seeing our agencies engaging their healthcare partners. 😁
Such a beautiful answer to such a common question about Dementia 💜 🙏 ❤️. Thanks for sharing, @VisitingAngelsSouthCentralMi!

Darlene Kellner is the Director of Scheduling and has been with Visiting Angels of McKinney for more than 6 years. In the office, they refer to Darlene as "Scheduler-extraordinaire"!
✨Even when she thinks that maybe she won't be able to accommodate a special request - she comes through and gets it done!! Building a schedule is like a puzzle - it is important to satisfy both clients and caregivers and Darlene does that incredibly well!!
✨Darlene manages and oversees all staffing and scheduling aspects of the agency. She is in daily contact with our caregivers, clients, and families to make sure visits are optimized in the best way possible.
✨Darlene and her husband, Dan, are the proud parents of two grown sons as well as grandparents to their adorable granddaughter and another grandbaby on the way! They have called McKinney home for the last 26 + years.
Congrats to Port Orchard, WA Caregiver of the month, Jeanette! Jeanette worked for Visiting Angels in Alaska and looked us up when she moved here last year. All her snow experience came in handy last month as she had no problem getting to her shifts during the snowstorm. She is calm and soft-spoken and takes the time to listen and connect to her clients. We're impressed with how she shows up early and always asks, "What else can I do for you?" Thank you for everything, Jeanette! We're happy to have you on our team.
Chronic pain is, unfortunately, a part of daily life for many older adults. The National Institute of Health (NIH) estimates approximately two-thirds of people over 65 are dealing with chronic pain.
