Board-certified primary care physician Mrinalini Kodumagulla, MD, of Wake Family Medicine, is experienced in treating adults, children, adolescents, and seniors. Her empathy, dedication, honesty, and compassion make her unique and help her take care of all her patients’ primary care needs at her office in Cary, North Carolina.
In 1991, Dr. Kodumagulla earned her bachelor’s degree in medicine and science from Sri Venkateswara Medical University in Tirupati, India. She then went on to complete her family medicine residency at Mercy Health Partners in Toledo, Ohio. In 2008, Dr. Kodumagulla became board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. To better serve her patients, Dr. Kodumagulla also holds certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
From 2005-2008, Dr. Kodumagulla was a resident physician at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. During her time there, she evaluated and treated patients in the emergency department and participated in all teaching conferences. The following year, she worked as a family physician at Tri-County Community Health Center (now known as CommWell Health) in Newton Grove, North Carolina, where she provided and managed direct patient care, trained and supervised medical students, and managed the daily operations of the patient care unit.
Since 2009, Dr. Kodumagulla has worked as a family physician at Wake Family Medicine, offering patients of all ages routine health care, including annual and school physicals, and executive health physicals. She also provides chronic health and acute care management for medical problems like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and COPD. In addition, she is a designated civil surgeon for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services through the Department of Homeland Security, making her fully qualified to perform immigration medical examinations.
In conjunction with her medical practice experience, Dr. Kodumagulla also actively participates in clinical research. She has worked as a research assistant in the fields of hematology, oncology, and sickle cell at Duke University Medical Center, and she currently conducts clinical research on hypertension and diabetes.
