Environmental Management - Session 1
Sometimes I find it difficult to lure my student into a certain Spot or Body Position for Obedience. Here is a little peek on how I used our Fence to help Stone learn how to Walk nicely on a leash, Sit for distractions, and reverse Heel.

Environmental Management- session 2, STONE
I utilize the Hallway to Eliminate Distractions and Capture the Learners Complete Attention.
“Come When Called”- I want Stone to build a habit of hearing the Cue “Come” then execute the Behavior. The contour of the Hallway will make him run back and forth naturally then I just pair the Reward and Cue with it.
In “Leave-It” I use The Walls as my Barriers to help alleviate the difficulty in Blocking (basketball method) the Learner until he asks Nicely by sitting and waits for a release word. Great for Fast Dogs!

Puppy Manners 101 Starring Lady Mae
Leash Pressure - teaches your pup to be guided and to go with the pressure. This is step 1 for Loose Leash Walking.
Hands Free Leash - leaves my hands free to click and reward. I attach Lady Mae to me at busy times of the day ( dishes, laundry, guests). I’m able to reward the instant she offers polite behavior and can anticipate when she needs to go outside.
Gotcha Game- I’m conditioning Lady Mae to like having her collar grabbed. You never know when a emergency situation may arise and I do not want her developing fear as I quickly reach over her.

Senior dogs will require a completely different diet that caters to any potential health problems. As dogs age, they commonly will see a reduction in activity level. If their food intake is not properly monitored, this can lead to obesity and possible health conditions such as diabetes. Senior dogs may also need additional additives to their daily diet to help manage joint pain or arthritis.

Olive - Loose Leash Walking Session 4
Have you ever wondered why some people practice the Heel Behavior or why Trainers say only walk a dog on your Left Side ? Most of these behaviors stem from Hunting, at a time when we relied heavily on our canine pals to help bring food on the table.
The “Heel” is the best position for a dog to be in (whether it’s directly beside you or slightly behind) to watch the hunter for commands. Today it is used the same way. I’m guiding/leading a dog on walks with verbal or visual Cues. I’m constantly letting them know where to be and what is coming next.
Hunters (most people being right handed) carried their weapons on the right side so the canine teammate would stay on the Left. It actually does not matter which side you walk a dog on for Training. The important thing is consistency. Dogs will learn faster if they are always taught on the same side when they first start.
Here, I’m teaching Olive about Turns, the Heel, and giving signals before I’m about to stop or go.

Don’t Fear the Clippers
Art of Counterconditioning:
Helping my pet tolerate having his nails clipped I want to pair it with something he enjoys very much. I use this to my advantage to get him to learn life skills such as Toenail Trims.
One mistake which tends to occur frequently is, people Speed through the process. Shoving treats in the animal’s mouth and rushing the trimming to get it done can be termed
“ flooding .”
In this video I break the whole concept down and change my pet’s emotional state of mind by pairing a reward with:
-the the sight of clippers
-having his paws massaged
-having his paws touched by the clippers
I encourage my pet to be an active participant. I want him to touch the Clippers on his own and be rewarded for it.
This process generally does not take long to teach or build a good association.
I use rewards of higher value than normal during these sessions. A clicker will help to pinpoint exact moments when Randy exhibits calm and polite behavior. Ending the session with Play will make the experience more positive.

We offer laser therapy for animals! Laser therapy is a non-invasive therapy similar to acupuncture and massages. We use laser therapy to generally repair animal tissue that was damaged due to injuries or surgical procedures!

⚠️Attention Clients. This is a friendly reminder that we do require leashes to be worn by every dog in our lobby.
✔️If you come in with a retractable leash we will give you a leash to use for your pet.
✔️If you do not have a leash, one will be provided to you, but you must call from the car and someone will bring one out to you.
✔️Please tighten your dog collars before entering the building. This is a stressful place for your pet and will most likely back up and slip out of the collar as well.
