Ahmed Z. Elmaadawi, MD received his medical degree from Mansoura University's School of Medicine. He completed his general psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, and completed his child and adolescent psychiatry training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Early in his career, Dr. Elmaadawi was interested in neuroscience research, and he was involved in studies with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) at the Mayo Clinic for depression and mood disorders. Dr. Elmaadawi is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and has received several awards and recognitions. He is also a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research Committee. Dr. Elmaadawi brings to Beacon Health System a new era of modern psychiatry, including genetic testing and interventional psychiatry such as TMS, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and Ketamine infusion therapy. He is committed to uphold standards of excellence in patient care and to lead cutting-edge research in the field of clinical psychiatry. He has published articles on depression, bipolar disorder and ADHD.
