FLU VACCINE IS HERE...
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, flu vaccine is in short supply this year, especially for smaller offices like ours. So we just got a shipment in, but cannot guarantee how long it will last.
If we do not have any at the time of your visit, we will refer you to the nearest Walgreens or Kroger so that you are not waiting on our supply of flu vaccine to be restocked. It is critical that we all get our flu shots this year to help narrow down who may have COVID and who may have the Flu. If you have a chance to get it... don't wait for us - go get your Flu Shot when you can :)

Use a microfiber cloth to dust light fixtures and lamps. For extra grimy light bulbs, use a damp cloth and wipe - just be sure that bulbs are cool to the touch and everything’s unplugged from the wall.
Pro tip: Do this first so that errant dust doesn’t rain all over your clean room at the end!

Most of us clean AROUND furniture - spring cleaning means moving stuff and cleaning underneath it! So grab a friend and move everything, including rugs, to give all surfaces a deep cleaning. Move appliances away from walls and get a vacuum hose in there. You’ll be surprised at all the build-up!
Pro tip: This is a great time to test out some new furniture arrangements too!

I am sad to report that we do not have anyone to take over our office. Despite months of trying, the environment is just not right to be able to sell our practice due to the state of the world today. We recently had someone very interested, but she felt that taking this on may be too much for her family... something I can empathize with.
This makes me sad as we have worked so hard to build this, but I wanted to let you know so that we can start preparing charts to send to your new providers.
Don't forget, I will be available for the next 6-8 weeks to see you via video or phone visit, refill medication, and prepare records. And both the website and the phones will also be available for the foreseeable future as well. So do not worry - your records will be available to you when you need them.
There are several Primary Care offices in the Hermitage and Mt Juliet areas. For our Commercial and Medicare patients, Heritage Medical is also at Summit in our building, and the are accepting new patients. For our TennCare patients, I am not sure who is taking new TennCare patients however, downtown, Dr. Taura Long is now accepting new TennCare. For all of you, I would definitely call your insurance company and have them send you a list of providers in the area so you can determine your next steps in care.
I am so sorry that I do not have someone to hand this over to, but we have tried for many months now and spoken to several providers who were interested. But as the world is dealing with COVID, a change in administration, and lots of uncertainty all around us... taking over a medical practice is very daunting.
I appreciate so much your trust in us over these years and very blessed that we could care for you. Please call us if you have questions or need records, refills, or an appointment.
With gratitude,
Angela Willis MD
We think we have a new Provider for our office! - https://mailchi.mp/01199f26bc41/we-think-we-have-a-new-provider-for-our-office

To All of Our Patients.... regarding Permanent Closure of our Practice
Regarding the Permanent Closing of our Practice
I am writing to you to inform you that as of mid-February, I will be permanently closing our Family Practice here in Hermitage. As the COVID 19 pandemic has affected all of our lives, it has also brought about change. And sometimes that change has been good, and sometimes it has been bad. For us, it has been very difficult financially to maintain an office during the pandemic with reduced patient visits that were born out of an abundance of caution for everyone’s safety. It has also unexpectedly brought about new opportunities professionally that will allow me to practice Integrative Medicine, which has been a passion of mine for some time now. Transitioning to that model will allow me to be home more with my family, and start a new and different type of medical practice. This has been something I have been serious about for a long time… but that means leaving Primary Care for in order to start a different type of practice model. And as such, I will no longer be able to see you for Primary Care. I very much wanted to extend more notice to you, however circumstances were uncertain for a period of time and I was not able to let you know sooner.
Not to worry however, I will still be conducting Telemedine/phone visits into early March to allow everyone to have visits/medication refills, and medical records to be sent to you or a new provider. You will not be without coverage for your needs. At this time, I am also still in negotiation for someone to take over the practice, and I may be involved in oversight of the new practice as part of that plan. Trying to go through this process during a pandemic is extremely difficult and has been something I have worked on in the background over the last few months. I am saddened by the thought of leaving my patients, but very excited for the path ahead.
I will be closing for in-person visits on January 31st, 2021, but will be able to provide telemedicine visits into early March to help everyone transition into a new PCP (or stay with this office if everything works out) and continue to get prescriptions, etc. Our website (www.doctorangelawillis.com) and our phones will still be active with updated information for you. They will remain active for the next several months to make sure that all of our patients are informed of the changes and how to obtain their medical records. If you do wish to transfer your care, you will need to request your medical records prior to March to allow us to gather them all together to transfer them to a new PCP or to yourself. But, if another provider does take over, please consider at least seeing them once - get to know them. They will have your records and will already know you through me, which may make your decision to find a new PCP or not, a bit easier.
If the practice will be under new ownership, I hope to know that in the next 7 days. I will send you that information at that time.
It has been a pleasure and an honor to care for all of you for the last 5 years. I know this past year has been difficult for most of us, and has brought about both change and opportunity in ways that may never have happened prior to COVID. I am sad that I will no longer be able to care for you as your PCP, but grateful for the opportunity to have cared for you, and I wish you well as we all move forward into our “new normal”.
Sincerely,
Angela Willis MD
