Dr. Patel was raised in southern Maryland. He pursued undergraduate studies in aerospace engineering at the University of Maryland. He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Dr. Patel completed advanced clinical fellowships in cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH, and coronary and peripheral vascular intervention at Saint Luke's Hospital-Mid-America Heart Institute in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Patel has a special interest in complex coronary and peripheral vascular interventions in addition to general cardiology. He is currently expanding the radial artery catheterization and interventional program at Tristar Summit Medical Center and hopes to begin developing a formalized chronic total occlusion (CTO) intervention program at Tristar Centennial Medical Center.
