With over 30 years of surgical experience in the treatment of complex cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations and brain tumors, David J. Chalif, MD serves as the Director of Neurovascular Neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital and Co-Director of Northwell Health’s Neuroscience Institute Brain Aneurysm Center. He is also an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and past President of the Nassau Surgical Society
In collaboration with Dr. Avi Setton, Dr. Chalif developed a coordinated, combined program consisting of microsurgery, neurointerventional radiology and neurointensive care. This cutting-edge program for the treatment of brain aneurysms is unparalleled in the area.
Dr. Chalif received his received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and then completed his neurosurgery residency at New York University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Cerebrovascular Section of the AANS/CNS. Dr. Chalif regularly lectures both locally and nationally on various aspects of the treatment of aneurysms, AVMs and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
