Melanie K. Rose, M.D. is a native of Hueytown, Alabama, where she was valedictorian of her high school. Dr. Rose received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and graduated summa cum laude. She graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2008. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Rose continued her surgical training with a residency at the University of South Alabama Health Systems, followed by a two-year Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Rose is board certified in general and vascular surgery and has a special interest in endovascular and open treatment of Peripheral Vascular Disease, treatment of Superficial and Deep Venous Disease, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, open and endovascular treatment of Aortic Aneurysms and Cerebrovascular Disease. She is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Society and Southeastern Surgical Society, and a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Medical Society of Mobile County. Dr. Rose has extensive teaching experience as an adjunct instructor, and has authored and co-authored numerous articles for medical journals.
