Dear Friends of The Exeter Inn, Epoch Restaurant & Bar and our beloved Exeter community,
In light of what the global pandemic, COVID-19, has become, the hospitality industry has been faced with some of the hardest business decisions ever imagined. The health and safety of our guests and employees have always been our top priority, and while we have been strident in our efforts by putting all federal, state, and local guidelines in place, we are unable to continue to financially support the standard of care for all of our “stakeholders” during these difficult and uncertain times. We have therefore been forced to make the unfortunate choice to suspend our hotel and restaurant operations for the remainder of 2020 starting today for Epoch Restaurant & Bar and August 8th for additional reservations and all hotel rooms on the 14th. (We had hoped to have our restaurant open for the remainder of the week, but with Tropical Storm Isaias looming and our outside dining being our draw, we decide it best for all to close effective immediately.)
While this decision was not made easily, we are gratified to share that by closing down our own operations, we are able to support the re-opening of another. The Exeter Inn will facilitate in allowing students at the Phillips Exeter Academy to safely return to campus this fall by opening our facility to allow for additional housing and operational space.
Brighter days are on the horizon, and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2021.
