Dr. Pope earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical Engineering at Kansas State University and he earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Ohio and his cardiology fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He served 12 years in the United States Air Force as an internist and cardiologist, including three deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He left the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2010. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine and currently holds board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. He is an invasive cardiologist with interests in stress testing, echocardiography, and enjoys both office and hospital-based general cardiology.
