Whiterockers get ready to play their most favorite active game - Bean Bag Baseball!
Whiterock's jigsaw puzzle table overlooks the front entrance so residents can see the comings and goings. Jean works on the puzzles daily.
Whiterock ladies enjoy a game of canasta with covid rules: only one person at the table at a time. Others must push back to social distance until their turn. Adds a few more minutes to the game but no one seems to mind!
Whiterock resident, Bill, who will turn 95 years young soon, has kept a positive attitude during the pandemic by keeping in touch with family and friends online. He can be seen daily at the resident computers in the Library. He loves to find jokes and stories to share.
Whiterock residents are happy to be able to play Family Feud once again!
Whiterock Court residents keeping socially distant and wearing masks are still able to enjoy normal activities such as poker and pool.
103 year old Whiterock resident, Bernice Nicklas, did her civic duty by voting early! She voted at the Audelia Rd. Library where the clerks could not have been nicer as they wheeled the voting machine out to the car for her. A lifelong Republican, Bernice first voted in 1940 when she was 22. Wendell Wilkie, a Republican businessman, was the candidate against FDR. She has never missed an election and has voted twice since moving to Dallas in 2015. Before moving from PA, Bernice decorated her lawn with flags every federal holiday and wore a red, white and blue jacket with a white straw hat and patriotic headband.
Hats off to Bernice!

Whiterock's 107 year old resident, Clarence, has a new job! Always busy, moving tables and chairs for different activities, he's found himself slowing down and hasn't been his usual perky self. (Although he did hit 2 home runs in Bean Bag Baseball yesterday) He now has the job of setting menus on the tables before Lunch and Supper each day and making sure each place has a pencil. I detect a new spring in his step!
Whiterock ladies had fun today designing wreaths and pumpkins for their doors. Very creative!
Whiterock resident, Virginia, getting ready to celebrate her 100th birthday today! As spry as ever, Virginia keeps her mind sharp by working the giant crossword puzzle in the Dining Room daily. Happy birthday Virginia!

We Look Forward to Meeting You
t's beginning to look a lot like... Whiterock residents, Ken and Earlene fluff up our new Dining Room Christmas tree and Earlene shows off her handiwork at decorating!
Whiterock had loads of laughs on Crazy Hat Day. Here are some of the resident's creations. Clarence, our 107 year old; Pency with her clothespin creation, Clyde in his homemade stovepipe, and Robert straight from Disneyland.
Whiterock Court honored our veterans today with a ceremony before Lunch. Resident and Air Force Lieutenant 1st Class, Robert Dale, presented the flag while everyone sang the National Anthem. Sarah Coursey read "What is a Vet, You Can't Tell Just by Looking", there was a moment of silence to remember veteran loved ones no longer with us, and the program ended with veterans standing to applause when they heard their branch of service music during the Armed Forces medley, Everyone then stood and we sang God Bless America. Almost felt like old times (pre covid) Brought a lump to my throat!
Whiterock put up our new Christmas tree Tuesday with help from residents Earlene and Paulette. I know it's a bit early but, as the old song title says, "We need a Little Christmas now!"
Whiterock's 103 year old, Bernice, and daughter, Carolyn, get into the "spirit" of Halloween!

Whiterock New Years Eve Photos playing "I admit..." and Photo Booth pictures
We had a great day at Whiterock Court New Year's Eve! We played New Years Bingo and New Year Family Feud, then had our New Years party in the afternoon. Forgoing our usual dance, we played games and had so mush fun while learning funny facts about each other. We played a game I called, "Yes, I admit that I have...", then they had to hold up a funny face if they did that any time in their life. Lots of laughs! We had photo booth pictures, music, punch and petit fours and mini cheese cakes served in individual gold boxes. In all, a fun day!

Whiterock residents celebrated Christmas with a Christmas Eve service of Lessons and Carols. It's an annual tradition that is so meaningful to residents, especially this year when so many churches have forgone in person worship. Led by REC, Kathie, resident, Joan Rogers at the piano and Worship Leader, Charlotte Dupuy, everyone agreed it was a lovely service.
