Dr. Alissa Wicklund sees athletes and others who have sustained a concussion, which is her specialty. She has patient appointments in both our Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley, CO offices.

Dr. Wicklund joined OCR and our sports medicine program in 2014 after eight years of private practice in the Chicago area.
She has experience working with male and female athletes at all levels who have had a concussion, whether as part of a team sport or an individual competition.
Dr. Wicklund offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment designed to help the athlete or competitor return to their sport and other activities as safely as possible. Read about services at OCR’s Regional Concussion Center.
“I truly enjoy working with athletes and helping them make a return to play, competition, and all their activities to the fullest extent possible,” she says.
Dr. Wicklund also takes care of individuals who have sustained a head injury at work or in a motor vehicle accident.
Dr. Wicklund holds board certification in her specialty of neuropsychology.
She completed her undergraduate degree from Miami (Ohio) University in 1996, and she went to earn her PhD in 2004 in psychology from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
Dr. Wicklund completed an additional two years’ of specialized training in neuropsychology as a post-doctoral fellow in the medical school at Northwestern. She is a member of the Sports Neuropsychology Society, and has received additional specialized training in treating sports concussions during the past five years.
Dr. Wicklund has achieved the designation of Credentialed ImPACT Consultant in the use of the nationally recognized ImPACT computerized assessment program for concussions.
Dr. Wicklund will work closely with OCR’s sports med physicians — including Drs. Rocci Trumper, Dale Martin, Sean Grey, Ryan Hartman, Stephen Yemm, Thomas Sachtleben, Skip Ross, and Thomas Anderson.

Outside of OCR, Dr. Wicklund enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, and attending sporting events with her husband and their three children.
