Dr. Chad Carlson joined The Bone & Joint Center in 2011. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, with additional fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery.
A native of Lansford, North Dakota, Dr. Carlson received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota. He then attended medical school at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences where he received his Doctorate in medicine. Following medical school, he spent an additional five years of training at Grand Rapids Orthopaedic Residency Program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He subsequently completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at South County Orthopaedic Specialists in Orange County California.
He specializes in the treatment of common and complex problems of the foot and ankle, including foot and ankle trauma, ankle arthroplasty/replacement, bunions, hammertoes, painful flat feet, diabetic reconstruction, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and complex deformity.
He is also interested in traumatic injuries of upper and lower extremities, knee arthroplasty, and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Carlson takes care of patients of all ages and complexities. Second opinions and patients with previous surgical interventions are also frequently seen.
Dr. Carlson works with multiple specialists throughout the country. Both operative and non-operative management options are always discussed. As a native of North Dakota, he is committed to providing outstanding care for our population.
