Cynthia Juae Chang, MD is the Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell School of Medicine (SOM) at Staten island University Hospital (SlUH).
After completing a combined residency in Internal Medicine/ Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate University Hospital and SIUH, Dr. Chang served as the Pediatric Chief Resident. She is currently board certified in Pediatrics and has practiced clinically as a Pediatric Hospitalist for the past 12 years. In addition to her accomplished clinical work, Dr. Chang is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell SOM and has a leading role in educating and mentoring pediatric residents and medical students. She serves on various committees pertaining to Milestones, CLER, GME Policy, Quality Improvement, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Resident Research and Faculty Development. Although her passion is resident education her other areas of interest in research are SIDS and Childhood Obesity.
Dr. Chang is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD). She is also a recent graduate of the APPD LEAD (Leadership in Educational Academic Development) Program and is continuously developing innovative approaches to graduate medical education.
