Suresh Pitchumoni, M.D.
SURESH PITCHUMONI, M.D. is Board Certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, and is trained in general gastroenterology (digestive diseases) as well as hepatology (liver diseases). He has been in practice in Monmouth County for over 9 years.
Dr. Pitchumoni was raised in Glen Rock, N.J. He graduated with honors from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He returned to N.J. to pursue his medical education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (New Brunswick), where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. At UMDNJ, he was honored with the Gold Humanism in Medicine Award as well as the Excellence in Research Award.
Dr. Pitchumoni completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before moving on to New York University for his Gastroenterology fellowship. At NYU, he gained expertise in both colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.
Dr. Pitchumoni treats all aspects of gastroenterology (digestive diseases) and hepatology (liver diseases), including but not limited to Colon Cancer Screening, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease, Heartburn/GERD, Barretts Esophgus, Diverticulosis and Diverticulitis and Hepatitis C.
Dr. Pitchumoni has been honored to receive “Patients Choice” awards each year, as he strives to deliver high quality care with a humanistic approach to each and every patient, and prides himself on his ability to make patients feel comfortable.
He currently resides in the area with his wife and twin sons.
